Where is Uganda ?

Uganda is a landlocked country located in East Africa, at the heart of the African continent and crossed by the equator. It shares borders with Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Often called the “Pearl of Africa,” Uganda is known for its rich natural diversity, including vast lakes such as Lake Victoria—the largest freshwater lake in Africa—and the source of the Nile River.

The country has a population of around 45–50 million people, characterized by one of the youngest populations in the world and a wide diversity of ethnic groups and cultures.

Uganda’s capital city, Kampala, is the economic and cultural center of the country, located near Lake Victoria.

Its economy is largely based on agriculture, with coffee as a major export, and the country continues to develop despite significant social and economic challenges.

Uganda is also globally recognized for its exceptional biodiversity, including rare mountain gorillas living in protected national parks, making it a key destination for eco-tourism.
